Covenant Christian Academy “Home of the Lions”

Covenant Christian Academy began in 1998 to bring Velvet Ridge and the surrounding communities a Christian School. We offer a Christ-based curriculum for students grades K - 12. The staff is dedicated to providing a loving and caring environment while educating the students. Students are allowed to work at their own pace in the PACE books. We are here to teach the students about life as well as provide an education.

Students are required to take core classes consisting of:

Math, English, Social Studies, Science and Word Building. A.C.E. (Accelerated Christian Education) offers enrichment subjects such as Bible Reading, Animal Science and Creative Writing/Literature for elementary students.

Most students will complete the required material for graduation in 12 years, however no student will be allowed to go forward until they have mastered the material in each PACE. Math and English provide building blocks of learning. If a child misses a key foundation principle, they have no foundation to build on.

High School students must complete a minimum of 22 credit hours to graduate. Subjects in High School consist of:

• Math: Algebra I and II, Geometry and Trigonometry
• English: English I - IV
• Soc. Studies: World Geography, Arkansas, US and World History, Civics and Economics
• Science: Biology, Physical Science, Chemistry and Physics
